Two months ago, my husband was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. We have done plenty of research on our own, given lots of ideas from friends and family and received instruction at the local hospital by Dieticians and Nutritionists.
Since I do the majority of meal preparation in our home, it is necessary that I learn what is best for Daniel to eat including portion control and reading labels. We have to pay attention also, to what type of food that he eats such as Macronutrients which are Fats, Carbohydrates and Proteins. All calories come from Macronutrients. We need to have healthy carbohydrates such as whole grains, but avoid sugars and fats.
So that I don’t have to make two meals at night time especially for our main meal, I have adjusted to eating what he eats at night. I am also using Sugar Substitutes and tried the Almond Flour. It is actually fun trying new recipes and new products.
This week, I made Glazed Cooked Carrots. This is a brand new recipe to both of us!
